PROJECT PHASES
Three primary phases guide infrastructure-related plans developed by Cook County. While incorporating public engagement at every stage, each phase has a different focus. The three phases, below, are conducted chronologically: PHASE I - Entails preliminary engineering and environmental clearances. PHASE II - Focuses on the development of final engineering plans, coordination with municipalities and IDOT through Local Agency Agreements, and land acquisition for the preferred alternative, if needed. PHASE III - Involves construction letting, construction, and final on-site construction engineering. |
CURRENT STATUS
The Plainfield Road Corridor Study is currently in Phase I. This first phase will continue for about four years, with anticipated Design Approval in Fall 2025. Throughout Phase I, outreach efforts prioritize coordination with municipalities, the Corridor Advisory Committee, and community members to analyze current conditions and needs, develop improvement alternatives, and determine a preferred improvement alternative. |
